Believing in the uniqueness and complexity of individuals’ subjective experiences, Dr. Tajbakhsh sees his role as a co-traveler, empowering his patients in a collaborative manner, guiding them toward a more enriching and fulfilling life journey. His approach is rooted in the works of many psychologists and philosophers alike, who propose that the pursuit of happiness by attempting to eliminate all life’s pains and sufferings is like chasing a mirage, ultimately resulting in greater suffering and helplessness. Consequently, Dr. Tajbakhsh utilizes Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) as a foundation of his therapeutic approach. ACT enhances individuals’ psychological flexibility in the face of life’s challenges by increasing their awareness of internal and external experiences in the present, willingness to open up and embrace their experiences, and commitment to their chosen values.
Recognizing the intricate relationship between the mind and body, Dr Tajbakhsh integrates various innovative techniques and modalities, such as Biofeedback and Neurofeedback, into his practice to assess and optimize mental well-being. Biofeedback involves measuring and providing real-time feedback about bodily functions such as heart rate, muscle tension, skin temperature, and brainwave activity. Using these techniques, Dr. Tajbakhsh trains his patients to harness their inner power for better self-regulation and more effective psychophysiological responses to life’s challenges.
Beyond his clinical expertise, Dr. Tajbakhsh’s multicultural and multilingual background, encompassing Persian (Farsi), Turkish, and Mandarin, uniquely positions him to connect with individuals from diverse backgrounds, particularly in Southern California.
